I have a lot of clutter on my desk at work and it makes it hard to find a place to put things. I decided to design a small foldaway hook for my headphones to hang on.
It's a 3 phalange style hook that freely hinges and snaps shut using 2 embedded magnets. The hinges are simply made using screws and thread inserts. It sticks to the underside of my desk at work using 2 strips of VHB. As an additional why-not during design, I also designed each piece with injection-mold concepts in mind so that this could potentially be a mass-produced product.
This was printed in Formlabs Black General Purpose Resin on our brand new released product, the blazing fast Form4 SLA 3D Printer, which I got to work on as the Lead Calibration Machines Designer.
